Scott Decker has been with Citizens Insurance Agency since 1998 and serves as President. Over the years, he has helped build the agency's reputation for providing dependable insurance solutions and personalized service.

Citizens Insurance Agency offers personal, commercial, farm, and life insurance coverage. As an independent agency, we work with multiple insurance companies, allowing us to find coverage options that fit our customers' needs and budget.

Scott believes the foundation of a successful agency is building strong relationships with customers. By treating people with honesty and respect and taking the time to understand their needs, our team works to provide the service and support customers expect.

As part of our Day in the Life series, we're introducing the people behind Citizens Insurance Agency.

Joyce's day includes answering phone calls and emails, reviewing personal and commercial insurance accounts, quoting new business, processing endorsements, and assisting commercial customers with bonds and bonding needs.

What she enjoys most about her role?

"There are no two days that are the same here at CIA."

For Joyce, one of the most rewarding parts of the job is helping clients find the right coverage at a great rate.

She also appreciates the culture at Citizens Insurance Agency. The fast-paced environment, strong customer interaction, and supportive team atmosphere make each day rewarding.

"Everyone on this team is willing to campfire ideas and find solutions. They are always interactive and supportive in the ever-changing business of insurance."

Meet the Team: Lynn Bode

As part of our Day in the Life series, we’re highlighting the people behind Citizens Insurance Agency.

Lynn is an Insurance Agent who describes most days as fast-moving and different from the last. In her role, she never quite knows who she’ll be helping next and that variety is one of the things she enjoys most.

What she likes most about her job is learning something new every day, since insurance is always changing and rarely routine. The most rewarding part for Lynn is helping take stress off clients. When things are clearly explained, she says clients often leave feeling relieved and confident in their coverage.

Lynn also values the culture at Citizens, noting the strong sense of ethics and the care shown toward both staff and clients.

She appreciates the team’s knowledge and willingness to teach and support each other, saying it makes it a great place to learn and grow.

When it comes to relationships with clients, Lynn emphasizes trust and consistency. Taking the time to build relationships helps clients feel confident that they’re being taken care of.

Her advice for someone considering the role:
Patience is key. Insurance can be complex, but taking time to understand the details and ask the right questions makes a big difference. And most importantly, the team is always willing to help if you ask.

What she likes most about her role?
“Every day is different.”

Betty says one of the best parts of the job is helping clients and hearing how appreciative they are.

She also values the team environment at Citizens. When something comes up that needs problem-solving, the team works through it together and shares ideas and experience to find the best solution.
