We’re halfway through the year, can you believe it?

Now is a great time to take a step back and check in on your finances. Think of it as a mid-year money reset: a simple way to see what’s working, what may need adjusting, and whether your financial goals still match where life is taking you.

A few things to review:

✅ Are you spending more or less than expected?
✅ Is your emergency fund where you want it to be?
✅ Are you making steady progress toward your savings goals?
✅ Have any big life changes affected your insurance, taxes, or long-term plans?
✅ Do your goals for the rest of the year still feel realistic?

Financial planning is not about being perfect. It is about staying aware, making adjustments, and giving yourself the confidence to move forward.

At Zephyrus Financial Services, we believe that clarity today can help create better choices tomorrow.

Take a little time this month to review your financial picture. Your future self may thank you.

𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱. ☀️

For many young people, real life brings a lot of financial “firsts” all at once.

Your first paycheck.
Your first credit card.
Your first rent payment.
Your first student loan bill.
Your first time choosing benefits.
Your first questions about saving or investing.

And the truth is, a lot of people are expected to make these decisions before anyone really explains how money works.

Advisor Eli Santelman wants younger people to know this:

You do not have to figure everything out overnight.

You do not need a huge income.
You do not need a perfect budget.
You do not need to know everything about investing.

You just need to start with one small, intentional step.

That could be:
✔️ Tracking your spending for a week
✔️ Setting aside $25 from your next paycheck
✔️ Paying a little more than the minimum on a credit card
✔️ Learning what affects your credit score
✔️ Contributing to a retirement account if one is available
✔️ Starting to invest, even if the amount feels small
✔️ Asking questions before making a big financial decision

Small steps matter, especially when you start early.

The goal is not to have your whole financial life figured out by 25.

The goal is to build habits that give your future self more choices.

Small Moves, Big Momentum ☀️

We’re kicking off a summer series at Zephyrus Financial Services inspired by thoughts from advisor Amanda Schueler, all about simple financial steps that can make a meaningful difference over time.

One of Amanda’s reminders is this: you do not need $1,000,000 to start investing.

You do not need to have everything figured out.
You do not need the perfect plan.
You just need to begin.

Financial progress often starts with small, intentional moves, such as:

✔️ Making one extra mortgage payment each year
✔️ Increasing your monthly investment amount by $50
✔️ Raising your 401(k) contribution by 1% each year until you reach at least 10%
✔️ Looking into a low- or 0%-interest balance transfer option if credit card debt is weighing you down
✔️ Starting to invest, even if the amount feels small

Amanda Schueler compares it to starting a fitness routine. You don’t run a marathon on day one. You start with a walk, one workout, or one better choice. Then those small choices begin to build momentum.

Your financial life can work the same way.

One small step can lead to more confidence. More confidence can lead to better habits. And better habits can help create bigger outcomes over time.

This summer, we’ll be sharing simple financial moves to help individuals and families dream, plan, and invest with more confidence.

“What if they don’t go to college?”

It’s one of the biggest questions families have when thinking about a 529 plan.

The good news: a 529 may offer more flexibility than many people realize.

Funds can generally be used for qualified education expenses, which may include college, certain trade schools, apprenticeship programs, and student loan repayment. There may also be an option to move unused 529 assets into a Roth IRA for the beneficiary, subject to rules, limits, and eligibility requirements.

Every family’s path looks different. A 529 can be one way to help create more options for the future.

Zephyrus Financial Services can help you think through how education planning fits into your family’s bigger financial picture.

A great reminder from the Minnesota Twins game: success takes more than one good swing. ⚾

Whether you’re on the field or planning for the future, it helps to have preparation, patience, and the right team around you.

Professional athletes often face unique financial decisions, but you don’t have to be a professional athlete to deserve thoughtful, personalized guidance.

At Zephyrus Financial Services, we believe every client should feel like they have a team in their corner, helping them plan for what comes next.

Go Twins!

This month, we encourage you to check in with yourself, support the people around you, and remember that asking for help is a sign of strength.

𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆 may be over, but the conversations it inspires shouldn’t be. 💐

To moms and mother figures who protect, guide, and sacrifice: thank you. 🙏

Supporting those who support us starts with 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗳𝘂𝗹 financial planning.

Because legacy isn’t just about wealth.

It’s about impact. It's about ensuring:
• Your family is protected in unexpected times 📉
• Your children benefit from education savings 🎓
• Your wishes are clear with estate plans 🏠
• Loved ones are cared for beyond your lifetime ⌛

Financial planning is ultimately an act of 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲.

If you haven't already, take the next step: start a conversation, consult with a financial advisor, or review your own plans to ensure those you love are well taken care of.

𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝗗𝗮𝘆 is a reminder that hard work deserves more than a paycheck; it deserves a plan.

In today’s market, financial confidence isn’t built overnight. It’s built through consistent decisions, long-term thinking, and access to the right guidance.

As we recognize the contributions of workers everywhere, here are 3 ways to strengthen your financial foundation in uncertain times:

✔️ 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹𝘀
Market shifts can create distractions. Staying aligned with your long-term priorities matters more than reacting to headlines.

✔️ 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗳𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆
Emergency savings, diversified investments, and risk awareness can help create stability when markets become unpredictable.

✔️ 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
The more informed you are, the more confident your decisions become, especially during periods of economic uncertainty.

At 𝗭𝗲𝗽𝗵𝘆𝗿𝘂𝘀 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀, we believe financial security starts with opportunity, preparation, and a strategy built around what matters most to you.

What’s one financial goal you’re focusing on this quarter? 👇

Today, we’re celebrating a major milestone at 𝗭𝗲𝗽𝗵𝘆𝗿𝘂𝘀 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀: 13 years of leadership from our Director of Wealth Management & Senior Financial Advisor, Timothy Piehl.

In an industry that’s constantly evolving, consistency, integrity, and vision aren’t just nice-to-haves; they’re what build lasting trust. Tim has embodied all three since 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗻𝗲.

Over the past 𝟭𝟯 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀, his leadership has helped shape not only the direction of our firm but also the way we show up for clients, partners, and each other. From navigating market cycles to staying grounded in long-term strategy, his approach has always been centered on doing what’s right, not what’s easy.

Strong leadership isn’t about short-term wins. It’s about building something that lasts.

Grateful to be part of the journey, congrats on 13 years, Tim.
