Free 2 Teach Students need supplies to learn. Teachers need tools to teach. Our community needs young people to drive our future.

Free 2 Teach provides free school supplies to public school teachers in Madison and Limestone County, Alabama, by mobilizing the community to ensure every child has access to an excellent education. Free 2 Teach is the connection point for these needs. We connect our teachers with a multitude of resources including traditional school supplies, office supplies, math and science resources, craft ite

ms, room décor, books, furniture and more. Free 2 Teach provides free resources to teachers in Madison County’s three public school systems. These resources are available to more than 3,800 full-time classroom teachers and their 52,000 students, improving the educational experience of our children and strengthening our community’s future workforce. Free 2 Teach is committed to easing the personal financial burden of teachers. Did you know that teachers spend between five-hundred and fifteen-hundred dollars of their own money every year to buy supplies for their students and classrooms? Each teacher who shops at the Free 2 Teach store leaves with an average of $400 in free classroom resources. We are grateful to be able to give back to our community’s teachers in a very tangible way. We applaud their passion for doing this important work and look forward to supporting them as they continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students and our community. We are so excited to share that today, with the support of Senator Arthur Orr, we announced the expansion of Free 2 Teach to include Morgan County’s three public school systems: Decatur City Schools, Hartselle City Schools, and Morgan County Schools!

Just 18 months ago, we expanded to Limestone County and have already invested more than half a million dollars in resources for their teachers and students, while continuing to deepen our impact in Madison County, where we gave away nearly $2 million in resources last year alone.

It is a powerful moment for our organization and community to now, together and with the support of Senator Orr, expand this work into an incredible new community.

We have loved building relationships with the superintendents, school foundations and leaders across Morgan County, learning more about their schools and working together to support the great things already happening for teachers and students throughout their communities.

With this expansion, Free 2 Teach will now impact 158 public schools across three counties, open to more than 6,000 public school teachers and staff who serve over 97,000 students.

This growth is possible because of the foundation that you, our amazing community, have helped build. From the brilliant vision Eula and her team first cast, to the teachers and school staff, team, volunteers, board, donors, public leaders and community partners who have strengthened Free 2 Teach year after year, we are strong and ready to grow and serve in this next chapter of our story.

It was so much fun having the team from Hawthorne Residential Partners in to volunteer with us on Friday! The team helped us organize and count supplies, build craft kits, and even held a supply drive to help equip teachers in the community. ✏️🖍️

Volunteer efforts like this are core to the mission of Free 2 Teach to empower teachers to elevate the playing field for students in our community. In a month where students and teachers from 115 public schools across Madison and Limestone counties are returning to the classroom, efforts like this help us meet the needs of the teachers who shop with us. 🏫
