Was given this card by my borrower at her closing last week. Nothing in it other than a genuine thank you, which made it all the better. First-time homebuyer who was so nervous because we had a few underwriting challenges going in, but she followed my lead, kept the faith, and we closed on time. She was at the closing with her dad, who earlier in the process gave me some very brutal commentary but I was patient with him bc I knew he was just looking out for his daughter. When she signed the last piece of paper, she and her dad broke down in tears of happiness — at which point they looked at each other and said a special thank you prayer for the mom/wife that was no longer with us. It was a great moment and a wonderful validation of the important role we play in the mortgage lending business. Oh and I think I impressed the dad by being there in person for the closing. We hit it off and he shared a lot of great stories as we walked to our cars. What a great closing!
