West Michigan Community Bank is proud to award $18,500 to 70x7 Life Recovery through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis’ Community Multiplier program.

The grant will help strengthen programs provided by 70 X 7 Life Recovery that offers a holistic approach to individuals transitioning out of incarceration, providing job placement, life coaching, mentoring, family support, case management, and transitional housing. Stop by our Hudsonville branch October 5 -17 to donate non-perishable food items or toiletries. You can also make a monetary donation at https://lovewm.org/donate/. All donations will be going to the nonprofit Love Your Neighbor where they will distribute the donations to local families in need. All donations are accepted, but these items are always needed: peanut butter, pasta, mac & cheese, canned fruit or vegetables, canned meat, beans (dry or canned), rice and other dried grains, pet food (canned or dry), shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, deodorant, baby diapers, hairbrushes or combs, and toilet paper. (Please, no expired food items.)

We recently hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony for the grand reopening of our Jenison branch. Community leaders, the construction teams and bank team members attended the celebration in support of the bank expanding opportunities for businesses and families in the community.

The newly remodeled branch is more than just a building to Matt Hoeksema, President & CEO of WMCB. He said, “It’s an investment in the relationships we’ve built over the years and our promise to continue serving as a trusted neighbor in the community for years to come.”

Special thanks to Lakewood Construction for their partnership, and to the Grandville Jenison Chamber for their support, and especially to Andy Rienstra from Georgetown Township for the fantastic testimony he shared about our Treasury Management team.

West Michigan Community Bank is proud to award $37,500 to Gateway Mission through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis’ Community Multiplier program. Featured here is (L to R) Chris Knoll, WMCB, Jim Bishop, WMCB and Jay Riemesma, Executive Director Gateway Mission.

The grant will help strengthen Gateway Mission’s existing programs for men, women, and children. In addition to their safety net services of food, shelter, hygiene, access to healthcare, and safety, Gateway Mission offers long-term rehabilitation programs for men and women, specifically for those who struggle with destructive life barriers such as drug and alcohol abuse, past criminal history, or continued occupational and housing barriers.
