🛑 ATTENTION: ALLSTATE INSURANCE CUSTOMERS 🛑
For your information....Allstate insurance has recently informed us that they "no longer have the policy of 1 year or 10,000 miles" as a requirement, or even acceptance, of the use of OEM (which means Factory built such as GM, Ford, etc.) parts on your vehicle REGARDLESS OF THE AGE, if aftermarket or salvage parts are available. Most insurance companies require the use of factory parts if a vehicle is same year and/or has less than 10,000 miles.
What this means is, for example, you can drive off the dealership lot with a brand new vehicle, get in an accident and if insured by Allstate, get aftermarket or salvage parts put on your vehicle during the repair according to their policies. Meaning, those are the only parts they will pay for. The sad part is, most wouldn't know of this policy until it's happening, and by then, it's too late.
Just some info that we thought may help someone before they find themselves in the situation. Knowing the type of coverage you have before you need it is as simple as a phone call to your agent and asking a question.
One of those THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW...
Make it a great day!
