Protect the home. Protect the options.

One thing I’ve learned in financial services is that protection isn’t just about having a policy in place. It’s about giving your family options when life doesn’t go according to plan.

When I talk about mortgage protection, I’m not just thinking about the mortgage payment. I’m thinking about what happens to the people left behind.

Could they stay in the home?
Would they have time to make a thoughtful decision?
Or would they be forced to sell quickly because they need to cover the next payment?

For younger, healthy homeowners, there may be opportunities to protect the mortgage while also building in living benefits for situations like critical illness.

For older homeowners, the conversation can look different. Sometimes the goal is simply to create enough financial breathing room for the family to decide what comes next.

That’s the part of financial planning I value most. It’s not about selling a product. It’s about understanding the situation, thinking ahead, and building a strategy around what matters most.

AI can give you information. But can it give you personalized advice?

AI is changing the financial services industry, and I believe that’s a good thing.

Tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and other AI systems can quickly compare products, identify strengths and weaknesses, assess risks, and even help advisors analyze financial gaps.

But there’s still something AI can’t replace: the human relationship.

Your financial situation, health, goals, and family circumstances are unique. You need someone who can take all of those factors into account, understand your needs, and help tailor a strategy around your specific situation.

I see the future as AI + human expertise, not AI replacing the advisor.

AI can help us work smarter. The advisor still brings the experience, care, empathy, and personalized guidance that turns information into a strategy.

From passion to purpose.

I didn’t get into financial services because insurance was the obvious path.

I got there by asking a bigger question: What career can actually help me build the income, freedom, and legacy I want?

I loved working with athletes and had a real passion for strength and conditioning. But as I looked at the long-term income potential, I realized that path didn’t align with the bigger vision I had for my life.

That led me to explore other opportunities, including real estate and eventually insurance and financial services.

Your first career choice doesn’t have to define your entire future. Sometimes, building the life you want starts with being willing to question the path everyone tells you to take.

Organic referrals can only take you so far.

Friends, family, and referrals are a great way to build your business, but they aren’t infinitely scalable.

Eventually, the referrals slow down. The people you know have already been contacted. And you’re left asking:

“How do I consistently get in front of more families?”

That’s where having a scalable strategy becomes critical.

Because when your pipeline dries up, the pressure to pay the bills can start making decisions for you. And for many professionals, that can ultimately mean leaving the industry altogether.

The goal isn’t to replace referrals. It’s to build a system that works alongside them.
