For those of you that dont know, the IRS HAS RULES for Tax Filing Status to determine who is a dependent or who is a joint filing.
If you are married you are supposed to file your taxes with your spouse aa married filing jointly.
If you are not divorced and have filed as married, you then can filing seperately aa married filing separately.
If you are married and havent lived together in 6 months or more you then can file head of household if you have a dependent but you must.......
If you are not married and have dependents you can file head of household
If you are Single with no dependents, your status is single.
Your dependents can be any age if disabled.
If not 24 is the age of a college student you would get credit for using the 1098T.
Age 17 is the last year for additional child tax credit.
Age 12 is the last year for dependent care unless disabled.
All needed is a daycare facility or Name of Person and Social Security with address and amount paid.
