A change in mood can look different for everyone. It may show up as sadness, anger, pulling away from people, sleeping too much, not sleeping enough, or feeling like daily life is harder than usual.

During Su***de Prevention Month, it is important to pay attention when depression or mood swings feel stronger or seem out of character.

If you notice these changes in yourself or someone you love, start with a simple check-in. You can say, “I’ve noticed you do not seem like yourself lately. Do you want to talk?”

Support can start with one honest conversation. If someone may be in danger or thinking about su***de, call or text 988 for help right away. Community Members can also call the Behavioral Health Crisis Hotline at 1.877.343.3108, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Women’s Equality Day is a reminder that every woman deserves to be heard, respected, and supported.

That includes feeling heard when it comes to your health. Your questions matter at the doctor, your concerns are worth checking and your care should make sense to you.

Today, we honor the women who care for their families, support their communities, and still deserve care for themselves.

Black Breastfeeding Week is a time to raise awareness, listen to Black moms, and talk about the support families need before and after a baby is born.

Breastfeeding can be a healthy choice for many babies and moms, but support matters. Families should be able to ask questions, get trusted information, and feel heard when making feeding decisions.

If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, pumping, or planning for your baby’s care, talk with your doctor, your baby’s doctor, or a lactation support provider. You do not have to figure it out alone.

It is easy to focus on everyone else first, especially when your family depends on you.

Taking care of your health helps you keep showing up for the people you love. That can mean resting, drinking water, going to a checkup, or telling someone you need support.

International Overdose Awareness Day is a time to remember lives lost, support families, and help reduce the shame that can keep people from asking for help.

Know the signs of a possible overdose:

> The person will not wake up
> Breathing is slow, weak, or has stopped
> Lips or fingernails look blue, gray, or pale
> The person is making choking or gurgling sounds
> Their body feels limp

If you think someone may be overdosing, call 911 right away. If opioids may be involved, use naloxone if it is available.
