One thing Iโ€™ve been reflecting on a lot since the Community Book Drive ended is just how many incredible local businesses and community members helped bring it to life. ๐Ÿ’™

What meant the most to me was that none of it felt transactional. It truly felt like people coming together to support something meaningful for kids in our community.

Because of the response this year, Iโ€™ve already started quietly preparing and organizing for next yearโ€™s event behind the scenes.

One of the biggest things I learned this year is that people wanted to help in all kinds of different ways, not just through raffle prizes or donations.

Some businesses donated prizes.
Some contributed swag bag items.
Some volunteered their time.
Some helped spread awareness online.
Some supported behind the scenes however they could.

Because of that, Iโ€™ve created an interest form for anyone who may want to be involved with next yearโ€™s Community Book Drive in some way. The form includes opportunities for:

๐Ÿ“š Raffle prize sponsors
๐Ÿ“š Swag bag contributors
๐Ÿ“š Swag bag assembly volunteers
๐Ÿ“š Event station sponsors
๐Ÿ“š Event support volunteers
๐Ÿ“š Or simply โ€œIโ€™m interested, but not sure yetโ€

Iโ€™m excited to continue growing this event in a thoughtful way while keeping the heart behind it the same. ๐Ÿ’™

One of the things I really wanted from this book drive was for it to feel fun and exciting for the families who participated, and getting to hand out these raffle prizes has been such a rewarding part of the experience. ๐Ÿ’™

Thank you to all of the incredible local businesses who donated prizes and helped support the Community Book Drive. Your generosity helped create excitement around an event that ultimately collected 2,353 books for the Richmond/Rosenberg Boys & Girls Clubs. ๐Ÿ“š

Seeing the smiles, excitement, and reactions from the winners has been so special, and Iโ€™m incredibly grateful for everyone who helped bring this event to life.

And, it's safe to say, this community can expect another book drive next spring. ๐Ÿ“šโšพ๐Ÿ’™

Iโ€™m a little behind on getting this posted, but on Monday I had the opportunity to deliver all 2,353 donated books to the Richmond-Rosenberg Boys & Girls Club, and getting to see the campus in person made this entire book drive feel even more meaningful. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ“š

Maria was there to help receive all of the books, gave me a tour of the facility, and was absolutely blown away by the number of books donated by this community.

The campus itself is incredible. They have an art room, technology lab, library, indoor basketball court, game room with foosball, table tennis and pool tables, outdoor space for the kids to play, and so many different activities designed to keep kids engaged, learning, active, and supported in a safe environment.

One thing I learned while visiting is that the Richmond-Rosenberg Boys & Girls Club is currently enrolling for their summer program, and it honestly sounds amazing for families looking for a safe, structured, and enriching place for their kids this summer.

The program runs Monday through Friday from 8amโ€“6pm and includes meals, field trips, educational activities, sports, arts, technology opportunities, and so much more. Most importantly, this specific campus is currently grant funded, meaning there is NO COST for families to attend.

They are very close to capacity, so if you are interested, I would encourage you not to wait to get signed up.

After spending time there, it is so easy to see the impact this organization has on kids in our community. Iโ€™m incredibly grateful we were able to support them through this book drive. ๐Ÿ’™

The final books have officially been dropped off, bringing the grand total to 2,353 books collected for the Boys and Girls Club. ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™

Iโ€™m honestly still trying to process it all.

I quietly worked on this for several months, hoping people would get behind the idea, but never fully knowing what the outcome would be. To see this community come together the way it did has meant more to me than I can explain.

What started as a simple idea turned into something that brought together local businesses, families, friends, volunteers, and this incredible community in a way Iโ€™ll never forget.

I am beyond grateful to everyone who helped make this happen. The sponsors, volunteers, families, friends, Rosenberg National Little League, and everyone who shared the event or encouraged me along the way. My heart is so full.

This was the first year organizing something like this, and I learned so much along the way, but more than anything, I walked away incredibly grateful.

2,353 books will now make their way into the hands of kids who need them, and thatโ€™s what this was always about. ๐Ÿ’™

Day 1 of the Community Book Drive is complete and we are already at 851 books collected for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America . ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™

I honestly donโ€™t even know what to say other than thank you.

Watching families walk up carrying bags and boxes of books tonight was incredible, and Iโ€™m so grateful for every person, business, sponsor, volunteer, and family who helped make this happen.

I was also very honored to receive the Community Spirit Award from Rosenberg National Little League tonight. Truly unexpected and very appreciated.

One more day to goโ€ฆ letโ€™s see how many books we can collect together. ๐Ÿ™Œ

๐Ÿ“šโšพ Update on the Book Drive โšพ๐Ÿ“š

Wellโ€ฆ tomorrow isnโ€™t going to look like I originally envisioned. Due to weather and field conditions, Fun Day has been cancelled.

But I'm not stopping โ€” I'm pivoting. ๐Ÿ’™

The book drive will now take place during games on Thursday and Friday evening (May 7th & 8th). Weโ€™ll still be collecting books, handing out swag bags, and bringing this together.

Raffle prizes will be drawn on Saturday. Winners will be able to pick up from Texas Regional Bank during business hours the following week or I can meet in the evenings at the fields.

Honestly, this event has already taken on a life of its own, and I truly believe itโ€™s still going to come together exactly how itโ€™s meant to.

If youโ€™ve been gathering books, hold onto them just a few more days โ€” I canโ€™t wait to see what weโ€™re able to accomplish together.

Thank you for all the support, encouragement, and flexibility. This community continues to show up in the best ways. ๐Ÿ’™

A big thank you to Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar - Stafford for supporting our Community Book Drive!

I met Kiel (left) when Whiskey Cake recently joined the Central Fort Bend Chamber. As an ambassador, I get the opportunity to sit down with businesses and really get to know the people behind them โ€” what matters to them, what theyโ€™re building, and how they want to show up in the community.

It didnโ€™t take long to see how much Kiel and Aaron (right) genuinely care about serving others โ€” and not just in their restaurant. When Kiel shared that they were looking for meaningful ways to get involved locally, I mentioned the book drive and he immediately said, โ€œYes, these are exactly the kinds of things we want to partner with.โ€

That says everything.

Whiskey Cake has generously sponsored the Top Individual Donation Prize, and also provided a special treat that will be included in each of the swag bags.

Great food, fantastic drinks, but even more than that โ€” itโ€™s the people that make the experience what it is.

Please help me thank Whiskey Cake for supporting our community and helping make this event extra special. ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ’™ Sponsor Spotlight: Texas Regional Bank ๐Ÿ’™

Iโ€™m so grateful to Texas Regional Bank for supporting our Community Book Drive with a raffle prize and for providing fans for the swag bags!

Iโ€™ve known Lisa, the SVP of the bank, for about a year and a half now, and one thing that stands out immediately is how involved she is in supporting our community. So when the opportunity came up to support the Boys & Girls Club through this book drive, she didnโ€™t hesitate to say yes.

She even took it a step further and said, โ€œLetโ€™s do fans since the event is outside and itโ€™s usually hot in May.โ€ That kind of thoughtfulness says so much.

And when she realized she had a scheduling conflict and couldnโ€™t be there in person on event day, she made sure her colleague Kristy would be there instead.

I share this because I think itโ€™s important to see the heart behind the businesses that support our community. The same care and intentionality theyโ€™ve shown toward this event is the same warmth and relationship-focused service they bring to everyone who walks into their branch.

Texas Regional Bank is a community-led, relationship-focused bank right here in Brazos Town Center, and Iโ€™m so thankful for their support.

Please help me thank Texas Regional Bank for helping make this event possible! ๐Ÿ’™

โ˜•๐Ÿ’™ Sponsor Spotlight: PJโ€™s Coffee of Sugar Land ๐Ÿ’™โ˜•

A huge thank you to PJโ€™s Coffee of Sugar Land for supporting our Community Book Drive!

PJโ€™s has been the spot for many of my work meetings over the last couple years. The coffee is great, itโ€™s close to home, conveniently located near a major intersection, and the staff has always been so kind and welcoming.

A special shoutout to Tim, who has managed this location for the last 3 years and helped grow both the store and the team into what it is today. I recently learned Tim is leaving to continue pursuing his degree and moving out of state.

Tim โ€” Iโ€™m so excited for you and the opportunities ahead. Wishing you nothing but success in this next chapter!

Thank you to Tim and the entire PJโ€™s team for supporting the book drive and helping make this event possible. ๐Ÿ’™

And if you know someone looking for a new job, this may be a great opportunity to join their team.
