October 1 is a good time to take another look at Medicare.

Beginning October 1, you can review Medicare Advantage and prescription drug plan options for 2027.

Before Open Enrollment begins October 15, review your plan’s Annual Notice of Change and ask:
• What will change about my coverage in 2027?
• Will my prescriptions still be covered, and at what cost?
• If I have Medicare Advantage, will my doctors and preferred hospitals still be in network?
• Will my premiums, deductibles, copays, or other out-of-pocket costs change?

You don’t necessarily need to switch plans. The goal is to confirm that your coverage will continue to fit your needs in the year ahead.

A little review now can help you feel more confident about the year ahead.

Medicare Open Enrollment runs October 15 through December 7, with changes taking effect January 1, 2027.

We recently said goodbye to our Summer Intern, Fatima! Fatima has been such a wonderful addition to the LKJ Financial family this summer. Her eagerness to learn, willingness to help, and sweet personality have made such a positive impact on our office. We’ve truly loved having her as part of our team and are going to miss her so much! At LKJ Financial, we're always looking for ways to improve behind the scenes so we can provide an even better experience for our clients.

Kristina and Amelia recently spent time learning new ways to better measure what's working, improve our processes, and make more informed business decisions. While much of that work happens behind the scenes, it helps us operate more efficiently, communicate more effectively, and continue delivering the level of service our clients expect.

And of course, we made time to enjoy Colorado's beautiful scenery with a hike to Horsetooth Falls!

🚨 The most effective cybersecurity tip isn't software. It's a habit.

Slow down.
Almost every successful scam relies on creating urgency or emotion. Whether it's a text saying your account has been compromised, an email asking you to verify your password, or a phone call claiming a loved one needs money immediately, the goal is always the same: get you to act before you think.

Before you click, reply, or send money:
✔️ Pause.
✔️ Verify the request using a phone number or website you know is legitimate.
✔️ Never share passwords or one-time verification codes.
✔️ Use a unique password for every account and enable multi-factor authentication.
✔️ Consider creating a family code word to protect against AI voice-cloning scams.
