New changes on how you use SNAP benefits took into effect April 1, 2026,

Starting April 1, 2026, new restrictions will limit what SNAP recipients can buy in Texas with their Lone Star Cards.

SNAP benefits can’t be used to purchase candy and sweetened drinks.

Former Mayor Tom Reid proclaimed January 9th, 2015 as CARELAND DAY which marks the commencement of our hospital to provide the citizens of the Pearland area with world-class CARELAND family medical service.

Opened to the public as Pearland Medical Center on January 21, 2015, HCA Houston Healthcare Pearland has provided the community with a decade of service receiving numerous accolades for consistently delivering superior patient outcomes in critical service areas along with providing 24/7 emergency care as a Level IV trauma center, a designated primary stroke center, and an accredited chest pain center, all complemented by also serving as the southern base for AirLife, HCA Houston Healthcare’s air ambulance service.

Turning 65 years
