Our next selection committee member has been working in education for over 25 years! 🤯

Dr. LaConya McCrae, a special education director, works closely with administrators and mentor teachers across Valdosta City Schools to help develop new educators. She actively forges partnerships to benefit students, such as providing brand-new shoes for perfect attendance and organizing car giveaways to fund essential student resources.

When she served as an elementary school principal, her initiatives allowed her to transform her school into a 1-to-1 learning environment, ensuring every student had access to a Chromebook to aid their education.
