Melissa has 16 years of retail banking experience and is a Community Manager in Houston, Texas for Community & Business Development at JPMorgan Chase. She is a local ambassador for Chase whose job is to build and nurture relationships with key community leaders, nonprofit partners, and small businesses at the neighborhood level. She is helping to advance racial equity by supporting Black and Latinx communities with tools and resources to help them improve their financial wellbeing.

As the year comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on the highlights of an incredible year filled with meaningful partnerships, measurable impact, and personal milestones. This year, I had the honor of chairing the Power On Heels Fund, Inc. Annual Scholarship Luncheon. It was my first experience chairing a luncheon, making it a full circle moment for me, as I too have participated in the Power Purse program alongside my mom.

I am immensely proud of this achievement and grateful to Ivette Mayo for trusting me with such an important role this year. The work we do throughout the year culminates in this moment, where selected scholarship recipients are awarded. This effort truly transforms lives and strengthens our communities. I am thankful to lead such impactful work and look forward to what 2026 will bring. ✨
