MN rebate checks are taxable on federal tax return, per IRS. Individual Minnesotans were eligible for a $260 rebate check if they had a gross adjusted income of up to $75,000 in 2021, and $520 for married filers who earned up to $150,000. Families could get an additional rebate check for up to three dependents, for a maximum of $1,300.

State and federal lawmakers lobbied the agency to leave the checks untaxed.

The tax filing deadline is now July 15th. The Treasury Secretary made it official this morning. This means that you have until July 15th to file and pay your taxes. We hope you can use this reprieve to focus on more urgent things that are affecting all of us.

Our drop-off slot remains open. And we have electronic ways to exchange information and sign taxes. But please don’t be in a great rush to file your taxes.

We will continue to operate, but at reduced levels. The health and safety of our clients, staff and community are our greatest concern. Thank you for your business, patience and understanding during this time.

Bluff Country's lobby will be closed for at least two weeks effective 6:00 p.m. today, March 17th. But please know that we have other ways to share information and sign tax returns.

Our phone lines remain open! Please call our office at (507) 896-3030 to discuss options for signing your taxes and turning in paperwork.

You may sign your taxes electronically and upload documents to a secure client portal. Mail is always an option. And we have a drop slot on our west side door if you need to drop off paperwork.

We are waiting to hear from IRS about an extended tax filing deadline. As of this morning, no official anouncement has been made.

Thank you for your understanding. And please know that although we can't continue face-to-face business for a while, we will continue to work on your taxes.
