🚨 Heads Up: Phone Number Spoofing Is Increasing 🚨
I want to make everyone aware that there has been a big increase in phone number spoofing lately.
Scammers can now make it look like they’re calling from legitimate insurance carriers — even showing names like Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, WellCare, Centene, Devoted, SCAN, Memorial Hermann, and others on your caller ID — when it’s actually NOT them.
We’ve reported these calls to Medicare.gov, and unfortunately, most of the time nothing can be done because the numbers are spoofed and can’t be traced back to the real caller.
Here’s what you need to know 👇
✔️ If your insurance carrier truly needs to reach you, they will almost always send a letter.
✔️ They may occasionally call, but they will leave a voicemail.
✔️ If you’re unsure, do NOT call the number back. Instead, call the 1-800 number on the back of your insurance card to verify.
🚫 Never give out personal information, your Medicare number, or bank details over the phone unless you initiated the call and are 100% certain who you’re speaking with.
If you ever feel unsure or someone is pressuring you to make changes, call me first. I’m always happy to help and offer a free Medicare plan review.
Stay safe and share this with anyone who may need to see it.
