NO Absolutely not! Should you ever get laid off, quit, retire or are forced to retire due to whatever reason, you will lose your policies because they do not follow you once you leave the company. Most people in America have made the mistake of never getting additional policies outside of work and worked with their company for 15-30 plus years then retire and when trying to get a new policy they can't afford it because they are so much older and retired. So they end up purchasing "Final Expense" which is a very small policy that only covers funeral costs.

Getting life insurance while you're younger LOCKS you into today's health rating. So when you're older trying to get life insurance, your health rating of when you first got your policy will be used versus your health 30 years down the line. This is called "Guaranteed Insurability". It's a lot easier making a phone call when you finally DO have a family and just requesting a change in the beneficiary versus getting insurance when older with possibly a deteriorated health!
