Do you currently have Allstate home insurance? If so, has any one told about the type of home policy they offer? If not, it is an HOA policy. An HOA policy is a named risk policy while and HO3 policy (more coverage) is an all risk policy. See the difference showing Allstate (HOA) and Travelers (HO3) home policies. See below for the difference between named risk and all risk type policies.
HOA
Specified named risks only. Meaning only these events are covered for the home
Covered Perils
1. Fire or lightning
2. Windstorm or hail
3. Explosion
4. Riot or civil commotion
5. Aircraft
6. Vehicles
7. Smoke
8. Vandalism
9. Theft
10. Volcanic eruption
11. Falling object
12. Weight of ice, snow, or sleet
13. Accidental water overflow or steam
14. Sudden and accidental tearing apart, cracking, burning, or bulging of certain household systems
15. Freezing
16. Sudden and accidental damage from artificially generated electrical current
HO3
All Risk: everything is covered except for a few exclusions listed below.
1. War
2. Nuclear Disaster
3. Flood
4. Earthquake (can be endorsed)
5. Wear & Tear (lack of upkeep)
6. Intentional Acts
7. Governmental Actions (House raid)
