What Is Medicare?

Medicare is health insurance primarily for people age 65 and older, although some younger individuals may qualify because of certain disabilities or health conditions.

🏥 Part A helps cover hospital stays and certain inpatient care.
🩺 Part B helps cover doctor visits, outpatient care, preventive services, and medical equipment.

📋 Part C — Medicare Advantage is another way to receive your Part A and Part B benefits through a Medicare-approved private insurance company. Many plans also include prescription drug coverage and may offer additional benefits, but costs, provider networks, and benefits vary by plan.

💊 Part D helps cover prescription medications. It may be included with a Medicare Advantage plan or purchased as a separate prescription drug plan. Each plan has its own list of covered medications, pharmacies, and costs.

Medicare is not one-size-fits-all. Your doctors, prescriptions, preferred hospitals, healthcare needs, and budget should all be considered.
