It's a lot more prevalent than you'd think that we find retirement accounts clients completely forgot they set up.
A person stays at a job for 3.9 years on average. Extrapolate that over 40 years of work, that can be a lot of work retirement accounts to keep up with.

Great news for America! Unfortunately this does not include statistics for educators. In 2020, NTSA found that the average educator saves roughly 6.9% of their income in 403(b) plans, quite a bit lower than the 10-15% recommendation.

How can we all improve? Take some time a couple times a year to keep up with how your portfolio and contributions are looking... I'll also shamelessly plug talking to a trusted professional makes a difference.

Workers are putting away a record share of their income for retirement. 401(k) savings rates are just a shade below the commonly recommended 15% of income.
