Former Houston Rockets superstar James Harden was arrested in Harris County after police found a legally owned handgun in his vehicle that was allegedly not secured in a holster.

Let that sink in.

Not accused of being a prohibited person.
Not accused of using the firearm in a crime.
Not accused of threatening anyone.

The issue? The handgun was reportedly in plain view and not in a holster.

Texas is one of the most pro-gun states in America and allows Constitutional Carry, yet a law-abiding citizen can still face criminal charges over how a legally owned firearm is positioned inside their own vehicle.

Gun Owners of America is standing with Harden, arguing that government should not be “micromanaging” how law-abiding citizens secure their fi****ms and pointing out that Texas allows Constitutional Carry.

While we understand this is currently the law, it’s fair to ask: Does arresting someone over a holster requirement make Texans safer, or is this exactly the kind of unnecessary regulation gun owners have been fighting against?
