A personal message from Suzanne 💙

After more than 20 years in the insurance industry, helping people navigate Medicare has become one of the most fulfilling parts of my work.

Medicare can be confusing, and I know how overwhelming it can feel when you're not sure where to turn. What motivates me is being able to sit down with my clients, answer their questions, explain their options, and help turn uncertainty into confidence.

For me, it's not just about choosing a plan. It's about helping people feel prepared and protected for the years ahead.

It is truly my privilege to walk alongside my clients every step of the way.

If you're turning 65, retiring, or simply have questions about Medicare, I'm here to help.

Thinking about choosing or changing your Medicare plan? Don't look at the monthly premium alone. 👀

Before making a decision, check these 3 things:

1️⃣ Your doctors
Make sure your preferred doctors, specialists, and healthcare providers are covered by the plan.

2️⃣ Your prescriptions
Check that your medications are covered and understand what you may pay for them.

3️⃣ Your total costs
A low monthly premium doesn't necessarily mean lower overall costs. Look at deductibles, copays, coinsurance, and other potential out-of-pocket expenses.

💡 The best Medicare plan isn't necessarily the cheapest one—it's the one that fits your healthcare needs and budget.

Not sure what to look for? Suzanne can help you understand your options.

Medicare Advantage vs. Medigap: How do you really compare them?

Looking only at the monthly premium can be misleading. The plan with the lower premium isn't necessarily the option with the lower overall costs.

When comparing your options, consider:

🔎 Doctor & hospital access — Do you want the flexibility to see providers who accept Medicare, or are you comfortable with a plan's network?

💰 Out-of-pocket costs — Look at deductibles, copays, coinsurance, and annual maximums—not just the monthly premium.

💊 Prescription coverage — Check your medications, pharmacies, and estimated drug costs.

📋 Coverage rules — Some Medicare Advantage plans may require referrals or prior authorization for certain services.

🦷 Extra benefits — Some Medicare Advantage plans may offer benefits such as dental, vision, or hearing coverage.

🛡️ Medigap works differently — Medigap policies help pay certain out-of-pocket costs associated with Original Medicare. They generally don't work with Medicare Advantage plans.

💡 The goal isn't to find the cheapest plan. It's to find coverage that fits your healthcare needs, budget, and preferences.

Not sure which direction makes sense for you? Suzanne can help you understand the differences and review your options.

🍂 Medicare Annual Enrollment Period is coming!

Before October 15, take some time to review your Medicare coverage and make sure you know what you're getting into.

Here are 7 things to check:

1️⃣ Review your current coverage — Does it still meet your needs?

2️⃣ Check your doctors — Make sure your preferred providers are included.

3️⃣ Review your prescriptions — Check whether your medications are covered and what you may pay.

4️⃣ Check your pharmacy — Your preferred pharmacy can affect your prescription costs.

5️⃣ Compare plan benefits — Look beyond the monthly premium.

6️⃣ Review your potential costs — Consider deductibles, copays, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket limits.

7️⃣ Write down your questions — Don't make a decision until you understand your options.

💡 You don't have to wait until October 15 to start preparing. Getting organized early can make the enrollment process much less overwhelming.

Save this checklist and share it with someone who may need it!

🚨 These are some of the Medicare mistakes I see people make again and again—and they're often avoidable.

1️⃣ Waiting too long to enroll
Missing an enrollment deadline can potentially lead to penalties or gaps in coverage.

Protect yourself: Know your Medicare enrollment timeline before your deadline arrives.

2️⃣ Assuming Medicare covers everything
Original Medicare doesn't cover every healthcare expense.

Protect yourself: Understand what's covered, what isn't, and what additional coverage may be available.

3️⃣ Choosing a plan based only on the monthly premium
The lowest premium doesn't necessarily mean the lowest overall cost.

Protect yourself: Look at deductibles, copays, coinsurance, out-of-pocket costs, benefits, and network rules.

4️⃣ Forgetting to check doctors and prescriptions
A plan may look great until you discover your doctor isn't in-network or your medications aren't covered as expected.

Protect yourself: Review your providers, prescriptions, and pharmacy options before enrolling.

💡 Medicare decisions are personal. What works for one person may not work for another.

If you're turning 65, retiring, or reviewing your current Medicare coverage, Suzanne can help you understand your options.

🚨 Top 3 Medicare Mistakes People Make—and How to Avoid Them

Medicare can feel overwhelming, but knowing what to watch for can help you make more informed decisions.

1️⃣ Missing your enrollment deadline

Waiting too long to enroll can potentially result in late enrollment penalties or gaps in coverage.

✅ How to avoid it: Know your Initial Enrollment Period and understand whether you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period.

2️⃣ Assuming Medicare covers everything

Original Medicare doesn't cover every healthcare expense, including most routine dental, vision, hearing, and long-term care.

✅ How to avoid it: Understand what your coverage does—and doesn't—include before choosing a plan.

3️⃣ Choosing a plan without reviewing your actual needs

A plan that works well for someone else may not be the right fit for you.

✅ How to avoid it: Check your doctors, prescriptions, preferred pharmacies, benefits, premiums, and potential out-of-pocket costs.

💡 The best Medicare decision is an informed one.

If you're turning 65, retiring, or reviewing your current Medicare coverage, Suzanne can help you understand your options.

🚨 There are 4 Medicare enrollment windows you need to know.

Missing the right enrollment period can potentially lead to late enrollment penalties, delayed coverage, or higher out-of-pocket costs.

Here's the simple breakdown:

📅 IEP — Initial Enrollment Period
Your first opportunity to enroll in Medicare. For most people turning 65, this is a 7-month window surrounding their 65th birthday month.

🔄 SEP — Special Enrollment Period
A special opportunity to enroll or make changes after certain qualifying life events, such as losing qualifying employer coverage.

🍂 AEP — Annual Enrollment Period
October 15–December 7. This is the annual period when Medicare beneficiaries can make certain changes to their coverage for the following year.

⏰ GEP — General Enrollment Period
January 1–March 31. Generally for people who missed their Initial Enrollment Period and don't qualify for a Special Enrollment Period.

💡 The important part: Not every enrollment window applies to everyone. Your age, employment, current coverage, and individual circumstances can affect which period applies to you.

Don't wait until you're facing a deadline to figure it out.

Medicare enrollment can feel confusing—but knowing these four terms can make it much easier.

📅 IEP — Initial Enrollment Period
Your first opportunity to enroll in Medicare. For most people turning 65, it is a 7-month window that begins 3 months before their birthday month and ends 3 months after.

🔄 SEP — Special Enrollment Period
A special enrollment window that may apply after certain qualifying life events, such as losing qualifying employer coverage.

🍂 AEP — Annual Enrollment Period
October 15–December 7. This is when Medicare beneficiaries can make certain changes to their coverage for the following year.

⏰ GEP — General Enrollment Period
January 1–March 31. This generally applies to people who missed their Initial Enrollment Period and don't qualify for a Special Enrollment Period.

💡 The important part? Don't assume the same enrollment rules apply to everyone. Your situation, current coverage, and timing can make a difference.

Not sure which Medicare enrollment period applies to you? Let's talk.

If your parent is turning 65, they may have a lot of questions about Medicare—and they don't have to navigate it alone. 💙

Here's what they may need from you right now:

✅ Help them understand their timeline. Know when their Medicare enrollment period begins and ends.

✅ Gather their information. Make a list of their doctors, prescriptions, and current health coverage.

✅ Help them compare options. Don't assume the same plan is right for everyone.

✅ Ask questions together. If something doesn't make sense, get clarification before making a decision.

✅ Offer reassurance. Medicare can feel overwhelming. Having someone beside them can make the process much easier.

You don't need to be a Medicare expert. Sometimes, your biggest role is simply being there to help your parent feel informed and confident.

If you or your parent have questions about Medicare, Suzanne is here to help.
