This is Colby and Anzhelika. They lived in Lake Charles, LA which is a 150 miles and almost 3 hours from Houston. Their mission, and they chose to accept it - was to buy a home in my very own H-town.
Colby grew up in Florida, another state that surrounds the Gulf of Mexico, or is it America? Anzhelika grew up in the Russian Far East city of Vladivostok. She left in search of opportunity and represents the quintessential American dream, not just homeownership. Her parents sold their home in Russia and gifted her a few funds for a down payment. With wartime inflation making banks a risky proposition, Anzhelika carefully carried just under $10,000 in cash to the US, the customs declaration limit. Sourcing cash is never easy, and Russian property sales don’t come with nicely itemized closing disclosures that we’re used to. Lake Charles isn’t bustling with bank branches, so this money just sat at home, under a proverbial pillow.
Colby, our leading man in this thriller, has main character energy and makes a healthy income as a content creator. Subscriptions and tips aren't easy income streams to verify, as most underwriters were trained before TikTok took off. A good CPA can do wonders, so we helped decode Colby's 21st-century income from the creator economy and sourced funds that came "From Russia with Love."
