During our diligence audits we hear "Our IT or Merchant services company manage our systems or data, so they would cover us if something happens.

As you can see from this recent breach, the bad actors enter through the IT consulting/security companies systems to attack their client. They were able to pe*****te 22 local government systems bringing down their payment processors and ultimately demanding $2.5M in ransom to exit their systems.
