Today, we honor 3 beautiful souls whose lives have been taken unfairly. Please keep the Verdin/Verret family, as well as our directors and staff in your thoughts as we lay to rest Verna Mae, Letha, & Paulie. No family should have to go through this kind of tragedy. This event has surely affected our entire community as well as the entire staff at Chauvin Funeral Home.

This is an absolute TRAGEDY! This could have been avoided if they just had the evidence they needed in 2019 to convict this monster and take him off the streets!

Now, a family is shattered because of the actions of one individual. We hate to see this in our own community, but we stand with the victims and their families.

Thankfully, I received word that the little boy who was stabbed multiple times and was able to reach the neighbor's house is now in stable condition. ❤

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet confirms that Kaegan Jude Solet, 47, of Houma, has been taken into custody in connection with the ongoing investigation into the incidents in the Ashland Drive area.

This remains an active and ongoing investigation. Additional information will be released as soon as it becomes available.

On behalf of Sheriff Tim Soignet and the entire Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office, we appreciate the public’s patience as investigators continue working to develop and verify information surrounding this case.

There is a difference! It all depends on what you expect. They may have a lower cremation cost, but there is minimal support to families. Less guidance, less aftercare. You literally get what you pay for. 🤷🏼‍♀️
