Leadership Hot Springs Youth Visit!!

We were honored to welcome the Leadership Hot Springs Youth Class to our SFLIC building today!

More than 20 bright students toured our historic headquarters, listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the former Hot Springs Post Office, originally constructed between 1900 and 1910.
These future leaders brought so much enthusiasm and curiosity as they explored one of downtown Hot Springs’ most historic landmarks.

Here’s to investing in the next generation of leadership right here in Hot Springs!

Remembrance Mortuary Service proudly hosted its Annual Breast Cancer Event in Waveland, Mississippi, bringing the community together in support of breast cancer awareness. SFLIC was honored to attend and support Remembrance Mortuary and this meaningful community event.

SFLIC was pleased to support the Hot Springs Community Resource Center by attending the first annual Boots & Bow Ties Gala, the CRC’s primary fundraiser for the year.

The Community Resource Center brings local organizations and services together in one location to help homeless individuals and families access housing assistance, employment services, health resources, educational programs, meals, veteran services, recovery support, and other resources needed to move toward greater stability and self-sufficiency.

We are proud to support an organization providing practical resources to people in our Hot Springs community.

42 lunches found a second table this week...THANK YOU to Tara Arthur and the West Central Arkansas Society for Human Resource Management (WCASHRM) for thinking of our neighbors following their 21st Annual WCASHRM Managers Seminar at the Hot Springs Convention Center!!

Tara, who served as seminar chair, arranged for a whopping 42 boxed lunches remaining after the event to be donated to the Hot Springs Community Resource Center...and she’s following that up with bottled water for our guests as well!

We’re so grateful every time members of our community see an opportunity to help and make it happen.

These meals will be put to good use serving our neighbors, and we appreciate Tara and WCASHRM for believing in our mission.

Today, we recognize and celebrate the retirement of Yolonda G. Thompson after an extraordinary 37 years of dedicated service to Selected Funeral and Life Insurance Company.

Yolonda joined SFLIC in 1989 as a Financial Secretary and, throughout her career, served in a variety of roles within Claims, Benefits, and New Business. Her extensive knowledge, particularly in annuities, and her commitment to excellence made her an invaluable member of our team. She served as Director of the Benefits Department from 2003 to 2016, and in 2016 was appointed Assistant Vice President/Director of New Business by our Board of Directors.

We are deeply grateful for Yolonda's many years of service, leadership, and dedication. While she will be greatly missed, we are excited for her as she begins this new chapter, enjoying more time with her husband and their grandchildren.
