During the last quarter of 2025, the US Department of Treasury and the IRS began the transition to electronic federal payments, which included phasing out paper tax refund checks. If you filed a 2025 tax return and are expecting a refund, the fastest and most secure method to make a payment or receive a refund is by providing valid bank account information. If you recently changed banks or entered the wrong account information when you filed your return, you may have received a CP53E notice. To learn more, please read today's WM Wisdom.

The IRS will send a CP53E notice when their attempt to use direct deposit for your tax refund failed.

Memorial Day: Monday, May 25, 2026

For 250 years, from the American Revolution to today, brave men and women have selflessly served our nation, with many making the ultimate sacrifice to protect the freedoms we cherish.

This Memorial Day, let's go beyond the barbecues and beach outings—it's a day to reflect, honor, and express our deepest gratitude. Share the significance of this day with your loved ones, and let's ensure the younger generation understands the true meaning of sacrifice and valor.

To all the heroes who laid down their lives for our freedom, we thank you. Your sacrifice will never be forgotten. 🙏
