Today marks 2 years ALCOHOL FREE!

What an incredible journey it has been.

In celebration of this milestone, I'll share a little story with you.

In May of 2023, I was at a social gathering where people were making margaritas and other yummy looking cocktails.

I decided to make a margarita for myself, so I would have something pretty (and delicious) to hold in my hand while mingling.

So I started with the salt around the rim of the glass, added some ice, margarita mix, and a lime.

Check. Pretty drink and social safety blanket secured.

But that strategy didn't work this time.

I took one sip of that drink... and while it tasted delicious (like a good margarita should), my body instantly said NO. My body did not like the way alcohol tasted. My body did not like the way alcohol felt.

So naturally, I decided to take another sip. Just to be sure.

The answer was loud and clear. I could not drink anymore. My body was telling me I did not like the way alcohol made me feel, no matter the amount.

That was the moment I decided to take a break from alcohol.

Here we are, 2 years later. Being alcohol free is one of the best decisions I've ever made.

Removing alcohol from my life created so much more space for self-love and abundance to flow. Created space for better health, balance, peace, and happiness.

I hope this inspires you to listen to your intuition. Listen to your body. Honor your well-being every day. Don't be afraid to make changes. Those changes could be the best decisions of your life.

It's official, I've moved 📢

In the real estate and lending world, we have to be ready to pivot and adapt to the ever changing market. We're constantly adjusting our strategies and always ready to face whatever challenges are ahead.

Sometimes adapting also means moving to a new mortgage company.

Above all, my purpose is to serve my clients and their best interests. That means working with a company that aligns with my goals and my passion for helping people make the best financial decisions for themselves and their families.

So excited to be part of !

Can't wait to share more exciting news with you all soon

Happy 14th Birthday to this little chicken nugget that doesn't listen for sh*t 😌

Swipe to see the series of photos it took to get one decent one.

Carlos is my "problem child" that was rescued from an animal hoarder nearly 14 years ago. He's been with me through all the big milestones— including buying a house, moving halfway across the country, and then starting all over again.

He's also the man behind the scenes on every loan I've ever worked on 😜

And if I ever need to leave an event early, he's the reason 90% of the time.

HOOD RIVER ADOPT A DOG NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT TODAY.

Thanks to the diligent efforts of our staff and volunteers, our dogs are enjoying the best standards of care in our power as we work to get them back to their families, or to new forever homes. However, as everyone is aware, the costs of living and doing business have risen dramatically in the past few months. This starts with the cost of dog food and medical care, where even routine care has risen as much as 50% in the past year. This also includes ensuring we can pay enough to retain our great staff, and to help them live in our community.

Due to these rising costs, Hood River Adopt A Dog is facing an emergency situation - we only have enough cash on hand to operate for another 2 months. While we enjoy a good relationship with our partners at Hood River County, they do not and have never fully funded the cost of caring for our dogs in our community. We also do not receive any funding from federal, state, or local tax dollars. This is where you come in - we have depended on donations & grants from our community to operate since 2007, and now, we urgently NEED YOUR HELP.

In the next month, we need your support to raise $100,000 in operating funds. We are also asking at least 50 people to step up and join us as monthly donors, to allow us to sustainably operate now and for years to come. Here's how you can help us reach our goals:

- Provide a one-time donation or sign up to contribute monthly at https://donorbox.org/save-our-shelter
- Spread the word by sharing this post!
- Attend our Paws & Pints fundraiser at the Ruins on May 23rd - this is our biggest annual fundraiser, and matters more than ever this year. You can purchase tickets here: https://www.tickettomato.com/event/8696
- Consider adopting or fostering one of our great dogs!
- If you have significant time, resources, or local connections and want to help guide the future of our community's shelter, join our Board of Directors by reaching out to our president at [email protected].

Donate today, spread the word, visit our website at hoodriveradoptadog.org to learn more about us, and help us save our shelter so that we may continue our mission of helping dogs and families in our community.

Today marks 1 year ALCOHOL FREE 🙌

The decision to try "alcohol free" last year started out temporary. I hadn't decided if I was fully committed to never drinking again. All I knew was that when I did drink alcohol, I didn't feel good afterward. No matter the amount.

I was also nervous about what my friends would think. Maybe they would think I wasn't fun anymore.

As time went on, I realized I was feeling better mentally and physically, more consistently. Day in and day out, I started experiencing the best version of my mind and body.

I also learned that my friends supported my decision. My trusted circle cared more about me than just me drinking with them. And it turns out I'm still just as much fun 😜

The truth is, my body had already decided alcohol wasn't for me anymore. It took my mind a little while to catch up and listen to what my body was trying to say.

This is nothing against alcohol and having a nice cocktail or your favorite boozie beverage with dinner or to unwind. If it works for you, I support that.

This is everything for making the right choice for yourself and your body. This is for listening to your body and knowing it's okay to take a break from something that isn't working. Or to try something new.

Through this process, I learned that alcohol just doesn't work for me. And that's okay. This process brought me peace, clarity, and a deeper understanding of self love.

I hope my story inspires you to try something new.
