I was asked last week to be a guest speaker for AVID at one of our local middle schools. Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) is a sixth grade through high school program to prepare students for success by developing skills that support students to be ready for college or career programs.

Had so much fun seeing so many familiar faces, hear what plans they have for the future, share a bit of my story and plant the seed of being homeowners one day 😉

Although I can’t share in depth details, this process and the hurdles we faced to get this family into their home was INSANE.

There were so many obstacles that we faced. But, we communicated through it all. Late night phone calls, so many emails, drives to get last minute signatures, meeting each other to exchange paperwork, even a few tears and so much more 😅

But we did it!
