The Hawai‘i International Film Festival (HIFF) Celebrates 45 years of enlightening, empowering and entertaining through film in Hawaii's arts and culture community. HIFF is the only Academy Awards® qualifying film festival in the State of Hawai‘i.

HIFF distinguishes itself by emphasizing films that reflect the unique cultures and experiences of the Pacific Rim. It serves as a bridge between East and West, showcasing works that are often underrepresented in mainstream media while fostering dialogue among filmmakers, audiences, and industry professionals. It was especially meaningful to recognize the successful historical drama of the unification of the Hawaiian Islands from the perspective of Ka'ina, Kamehameha's Chief of War, filmed largely in Hawaiian, engaging with several cultural practitioners for costuming, set design, battle scenes and more.

Education initiatives include free school screenings and guest filmmaker visits for youth statewide, plus panels and seminars featuring in-depth discussions with renowned filmmakers and content creators, and workshops with industry professionals.

HIFF helps our next generation of storytellers and filmmakers dreams become experiences, which in turn become resume's and ultimately shorts and full features. This Global Stage is only made possible from the passion and dedication of my fellow cinephiles on the Board of Directors. I'm honored to give back as a volunteer Board and do my part keep the cameras rolling!

Many of you remember Kristi capturing Figure Skating Gold in the 1992 Olympics. Most of you don't know that Ms. Yamaguchi created a foundation in 1996 to provide support to kids that face socioeconomic obstacles. Fast forward almost 30 years and her dream to give something positive to kids has become a literacy program designed to support Pre-K & Kindergarten families in the Bay Area and Hawaii.

We are proud to have our partner, Christina Hom, on the Board of Directors for the Always Dream Foundation and are grateful for the opportunity to partner with Kristi & her team to support the love and joy of reading to build confidence, improve school performance and ignite dreams through books!

We enjoyed sharing the mission and program of Always Dream as well as creative ways to help support through creative gifting strategies, including fine art, real estate and collectibles. We have the opportunity to help clients fulfill their philanthropic dreams while minimizing taxes and protecting their families.
