I often notice this type of misleading articles stating "a reverse mortgage can make it problematic" when letting heirs to inherit a property.

It states heirs will have to pay off the mortgage balance. If not, the lender will sell the home.

This author wrote it as if a forward mortgage would not require heirs to pay off the mortgage balance.

Lenders wants mortgage balance paid off regardless of a forward or reverse mortgage when a mortgage is due.

There was a time when Toyota was regarded as an unreliable & inexpensive car manufacture.

As the result of improvements (took over decades), I don't meet with anyone with such negative views.

FHA has substantially improved HECM (Reverse Mortgage) but it may take a few more decades for everyone to change their views.

For many people, the term “reverse mortgage” brings back memories of late-night commercials featuring Tom Selleck and Henry Winkler in the early- to mid-2000s.
