Happy March! January was way too slow, February was way too fast, hopefully March will be just right!

We went to introduce you to an organization that stole our hearts in December when we saw a story on the news - Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP). SHP is a nonprofit organization whose mission is simple, to ensure every child has a bed to sleep in. Their motto is No kid sleeps on the floor in our town. We believe so strongly in this organization and what they are doing for kids here in Birmingham. A bed is a basic need and we know sleep is important for a growing child's mental, emotional and physical development. Casey Halsey State Farm wants to help SHP provide more beds to children in our community. During the month of March, we will donate $5 to SHP for each car that we quote. The cost to build one bed is $250 and we need your help to donate at least four beds!

Here’s a quick and easy community service project your family can do today. Pick up a few items on the list and drop them off at any Hoover Fire Station. Thank you for your help!

To all Hoover residents,

In light of the predicted wintry weather that is headed our way over the next several days, we have been asked to help with donating to the warming shelters that will be set up at the BJCC in Birmingham.

We ask that, if possible, you please drop off some of the following items to any Hoover Fire station and they will be delivered to the BJCC. We will collect those items from now until noon on Wednesday morning, January 17th. Those items are:

*Trail Mix
*Breakfast bars
*Bananas
*Fruit cups
*Candies
*Bottled water
*Washable twin size blankets
*Table games
*Cards
*Magazines
