Did you know one in eight women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime? And even more will know or love someone fighting this destructive disease.

That’s why, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we want to raise awareness about this form of cancer. Take a look at a few key facts below:

💝 One in eight women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime.

💝 The average age of diagnosis is 62, but breast cancer can occur at any age.

💝 Early detection is key to survival. When breast cancer is caught before it has spread to other areas of the body, the five-year relative survival rate is 99%.

💝 As such, it's important to talk to your doctor about any risk factors and get regular mammograms once it’s recommended you do so.

💝The United States Preventive Services Task Force recommends women ages 50-74 with an average risk receive a mammogram every two years. Women ages 40 to 49 should talk with their doctor to determine when to start and frequency.

💝 There are many effective treatments for breast cancer, and the survival rate has been steadily increasing in recent years.

Share this post to raise awareness about breast cancer, and remember to talk to your friends and family about the disease and encourage them to get screened.

With Hurricane Idalia coming our way, we want to share our hopes that all of you stay safe and sound 💗 If your property sustains damage, know that we’re here to help. To file a claim, please call our office at 912-487-5411. If our phone lines are busy or down, please email claim information to either [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] or [email protected]. Please email at least two of our employees at a time in case someone is unable to access their emails.

Here are a few initial steps to take:

✔️ Prioritize safety - Leave the property if there are immediate hazards or risks. Do not attempt to survey the damage yourself if it is not safe to do so.
✔️ Document the damage - If it’s safe to do so, take photos or videos of the damage, capturing wide-angle shots and close-ups as evidence for any claims.
✔️ Mitigate further damage - Again – if safe – take reasonable steps to prevent additional damage, such as covering a damaged roof with a tarp. Keep receipts for temporary repairs.
✔️ Give us a call - We can offer clients tailored advice and help facilitate communication with the insurance carrier.

If you have insurance questions or other needs post-storm, don’t hesitate to reach out. Even if you’re not a client, we’re happy to help however we can 🤝

Did you know that August 5th is National Dash Cam Day? 🚘📹 It’s true!

You’ve probably seen dash cams popping up more and more lately, whether they’re in your rideshare vehicle or a friend’s car. Here are a few reasons why you may want to consider getting one for yourself:

✅ A dash cam can be a second set of eyes if you are involved in an accident.

✅ Some studies have shown that installing a dash cam can make the driver safer behind the wheel.

✅ A dash cam with parking mode can deter potential theft and vandalism.

Prices range from $80-$400, but if an incident happens and you need proof, you may find it well worth the investment.

Do you have a dash cam or have you considered purchasing one? Let us know in the comments! 💬

⚠️Important safety reminder⚠️ With extreme heat hitting our area, it’s important all of us keep our health top of mind.

That’s why our team compiled a list of key health and safety tips for this heat wave:

1️⃣ Stay hydrated - Drink water throughout the day, even if you're not thirsty. It's especially important for kids and seniors to stay hydrated.

2️⃣ Protect your pets - Keep them inside as much as possible, make sure their water is fresh, and avoid walks during the hottest hours. Never leave them in parked cars!

3️⃣ Dress smart - Opt for lightweight, light-colored clothes, sunscreen, and a hat.

4️⃣ Seek cool spaces - If you don’t have A/C in your home, consider visiting air-conditioned public spaces like malls, libraries, etc. You could also visit friends who have A/C.

5️⃣ Take cool showers - Lower your body temp with cool showers. In addition, use damp towels or mist spray during the day.

6️⃣ Limit outdoor activities - Avoid strenuous activities during the hottest parts of the day. If you must be outside, test in shaded spots and stay hydrated.

Heat-related illnesses are no joke, so let's all keep these tips in mind. While you’re at it, share this post to bring a timely reminder to your network ↩️

Stay cool, hydrated, and safe, folks! 🌞❄️
