YOU MAY NOT HAVE THE RIGHT COVERAGE FOR THAT E-BIKE OR E-MOTO
Beginning on January 1st, Illinois will require a driver's license, title, registration, and INSURANCE on any e-bike or e-moto capable of traveling over 28mph. The coverage you need for an e-bike or e-moto is not one size fits all.

E-Bike: pedals, pedal assist or throttle controlled, 28 mph and under, and under 750 watts

E-Moto: no pedals, throttle driven, higher speeds than 28 mph, and over 750 watts

So, what kind of coverage do you need? We have some general coverages listed below but suggest talking this through with us to ensure you understand the risk and liability fully.

Motorcycle Policy: liability coverage, optional physical damage coverage, and optional theft coverage

Homeowners Policy: liability coverage to household e-bikes, limited to a top speed of 20 mph and 746 w / 1 HP, and limited to e-bikes valued at $1,000 or less

Personal Articles Policies Provide: coverage for e-bikes valued above $500, liability is under home policy
