The Briglio Insurance Group is seeking a full time (9 to 5, Monday to Friday) sales & service representative to assist with new and existing customers.

Applicants should have the following traits:
- Punctual and dependable
- Great phone voice and enjoy being on the phone
- Computer literate and proficient with email
- Attention to detail and being thorough
- Work well as part of a team
- Interested in a career in insurance and a position with room for rapid advancement
- Prior customer service and or sales experience preferred
- Prior insurance experience a plus but not required
- Bilingual Spanish / English preferred but not necessarily required

Base salary plus commission and bonus. Base salary is based on experience and will include paid holidays and paid vacation / sick time. Retirement plan available.

Prepare for Hurricane Season by Reviewing Your Flood Insurance or Buying Flood Insurance if you have none.

The 2017 hurricane season was one of the most devastating and costly on record, and forecasters predict that these severe storms will continue this year. Approximately 80 percent of households impacted by hurricanes in 2017 did not have flood insurance. One of the most important steps home and business owners can take to recover faster and more fully after a disaster is to buy flood insurance. If you already have flood insurance, congratulations! Now is a good time to review your policy to make sure your coverage and deductibles meet your needs.

Most homeowners and renters insurance policies do not cover flooding. Just one inch of water in an average sized home can cause more than $25,000 in damage.

Flooding can happen anywhere, not just in high risk areas. 98% of counties in the U.S. have experienced a flood. More than 20 percent of flood insurance claims are from properties outside of high risk areas. During Hurricane Harvey, nearly half of all flood claims in the Houston area came from homes outside of high-risk flood areas.

Now is the time to buy. Flood insurance policies typically take 30 days to go into effect.

We hope you all got through Irma okay. We've been taking customer claims but fortunately they've been minor for the most part. Our friends in the Keys and parts of the west coast were not as lucky and they need our prayers.

Our office finally got our power back this past Monday, phones Tuesday, and some internet but very spotty. We've tried to use mobile hotspot but it too has been spotty. Our internet provider tells us this should be corrected soon. We hope!

If you need to make a claim and have not yet filed, feel free to call our office at 954-987-8250. You can also check your policy declarations for a claims or company phone number and call the carrier directly. There is no downside to filing an Irma claim. It will not be held against you in any way. Most hurricane deductibles are annual so if if your covered damage doesn't exceed your deductble, it would reduce your hurricane deductible should you have damage from another hurricane in the same policy year.

Some bad news for consumers - After several years of the South Florida property insurance market improving in availability and stabalizing rates, the market is now constricting due to a proliferation of water related claims. Some companies have stopped wrtiting new policies in the Tri-County area, others have tightened new business guidelines, and / or increased premiums. Renewal guidelines have also tightened and it is now more likely that your carrier will non-renew your policy if you have water related claims. This is not a consumer friendly trend that has no end in sight unless the trend in water related claims reverses itself.
