It’s time to play Hollywood Walk of Fame!!!! We thought this would be a fun way for you to meet our team!

Shannon entered the insurance industry in 2001 and began his career with Alfa in 2020. Born and raised in the Big Cove Community, Shannon first moved to Jackson County in 1999. In 2000, he married the love of his life, Kellie McKenzie, and began putting down roots in the Higdon Community of North Sand Mountain. The couple would remain at Higdon until 2017, when they moved to Big Cove for a few years before once again returning to the peace and tranquility of Jackson County in 2024, this time settling on Cumberland Mountain at Hytop.

• Drink of Choice: Diet Mtn Dew
• Favorite Restaurant: I could name a dozen without thinking too hard! I’m not picky and enjoy dining out!

Shannon & Kellie are the parents of three daughters - Mackenzie & Preston Guest, Makayla & Clay White, and Maddie-Klaire Byrd. They are also the beaming grandparents of Miss Scarlett Jane Guest! When not at Alfa, Shannon is involved in church activities and is also the owner of Byrdhouse Music Co., a convention gospel music publishing company. He is the author of more than 100 songs that have been published with numerous companies. He also enjoys playing the piano and traveling with family. Shannon & Kellie are members of the Hytop Free Holiness Church.

Jada joined Alfa in December of 2025, working with Shannon as a CSR in the Big Cove office. She has proved herself a valuable asset over the past six months and is now an associate agent for our team. Jada is always willing and able to accomplish any task that is thrown her way! Jada and her husband, Bronsen, were married in 2023, and make their home in Swearengin, Alabama, along with their schnauzer, Winston. They are members of the Stevenson Free Holiness Church. When Jada isn’t at Alfa, she enjoys antiquing, crafting, reading, walking her dog, and spending time with Bronson and their friends.

First up is our CSR, Makayla (Byrd) White, who is brand new to the insurance industry; however, she is no stranger to Alfa! Makayla is currently studying for her insurance licensing and currently helps the office out with phones, payments, and various “other duties as assigned”. She is part-time and generally works three days a week. Here are a few things to know about Makayla:

Makayla and her husband, Clay, were married last October, and make their home in Sylvania, Alabama, along with their pup, Rocker. They are members of the Old Sardis Free Holiness Church. When Makayla isn’t at Alfa, she enjoys thrifting, reading, and hanging out with Clay and their friends.
