Forecasters are predicting a below-normal 2026 Atlantic hurricane season, with 8–14 named storms expected between June 1 and November 30. However, 3–6 of those storms could become hurricanes, and 1–3 may reach major hurricane status.

While Tennessee may be landlocked, we're not immune to the effects of hurricanes. Storms making landfall along the Gulf Coast or Atlantic Coast can bring heavy rain, flooding, and damaging winds to our area, impacting homes, businesses, and families across Tennessee.
