Spring crop insurance prices are official. Let me know if you’d like to see updated quotes on your coverage with the final prices.

Remember that 3/16 will be your deadline for new policies and changes to existing policies. Add a new member to your LLC? Get married since 3/15/25? Daughter or son putting out some crops on their own this year? Picked up ground in a new county? Trying a new crop? If you answered “yes” to any of these be sure and let your agent know!

And we’re off! Price discovery period for corn and soybeans started today. As a reminder, the spring price is the average of daily closing prices for Nov soybean futures and Dec corn futures. Great article from our friends at University of Kentucky Department of Agricultural Economics explaining some changes for 2026 crop insurance. For those eligible, Beginning Farmer & Rancher benefits have expanded and for all, increased subsidies on SCO/ECO mean it’s worth taking a look even if it’s not been a good fit when we’ve looked at it before.
