SEPTEMBER 1ST SEEMS LIKE THE PERFECT DAY TO REINTRODUCE SEPTEMBER!!!!

Because apparently after almost 11 YEARS at John Yelkich State Farm, we’ve decided it’s finally time for everyone to know a little more about her!

September has been part of our office family for over 10 years, which means she has officially earned the title of “survived long enough to know where everything is.”

She and her husband, Steve, live right here in Hobart. September grew up in Florida — which probably explains why her ideal weather involves a pool, sunshine and absolutely NO snow.

She has a 22-year-old stepdaughter, Kaitlyn who is a recent IU graduate and also has a very important role as fur mom to her fur baby, Maci Lyn, who you will likely hear about within approximately 5 minutes of meeting her. 🐶🤣

When September isn’t at the office, her hobbies include:
🏖️ Laying by the pool
✈️ Vacationing
🏁 Watching her husband drag race
🙋‍♂️ Helping her husband find things that are literally right in front of his face
🐶 Spoiling Maci Lyn

Around the office, she’s licensed in Indiana & Illinois and helps customers with their home, auto, renters, rental properties, classic cars, recreational vehicles and small business insurance.

But after almost 11 years, she’s become a whole lot more. She’s part of the family, a familiar voice to many of our customers, and one of the people who helps make this office what it is. Sometimes she refers to herself as “John’s Boss”.

Happy Friday!! To keep on with re-introducing the Team, today we want to spotlight ALLIE!!

A little note from Allie:
My name is Alexandra Runk, and I’m proud to say I’ve called Hobart, Indiana, home my entire life. Growing up in the community has given me a strong appreciation for the people, small-town connections, and sense of community that make Hobart such a special place. Being a lifelong resident, I love being able to serve and help the same community that has been such a big part of my life. There’s something pretty special about knowing the area, knowing the people, and giving back to the community I’ve always called home!

I take a lot of pride in helping people find the right insurance coverage for their individual needs. Insurance can sometimes feel like a foreign language, so one of my biggest goals is to make the process simple, clear, and easy to understand. I want our customers to feel confident about what they’re covered for and why.

When I’m not in the office, I’m still very much a hands-on person. I’m currently renovating my first home, which has taught me that “just one more project” is a dangerous phrase! When I’m not covered in dust or figuring out what I got myself into, you’ll probably find me working on diamond art or another craft project, and if you know anything about diamond art, you know I carry the sparkle of them with me, everywhere I go.

Whether I’m helping a client protect what matters most or attempting to renovate my own home with a YouTube tutorial (my favorite place to learn), I love being hands-on, helping others, and finding solutions that work!

A Picture Really is Worth 1,000 Words…

…especially when it comes to an insurance claim.

We, as all insurance agents, have been receiving quite a few calls regarding what should be done to start a claim for damages due to the recent storm that devastated Northwest Indiana. Our biggest piece of advice: Take pictures—lots of them!
If you experience any type of loss, take more photos than you think you’ll ever need. 📸 Document the damage, the items affected, and even the surrounding area. You may not know which photos will be helpful later, but having them is always better than wishing you had them.
Wanted to share this helpful information and hopefully save someone a headache down the road.
When in doubt, take the picture. You can always delete it later. 😉

Storm Update from John Yelkich State Farm 🌪️❤️

Yesterday’s derecho and storms hit our area hard, and unfortunately, our office is currently without power and internet. Our phone lines have been forwarded to the Customer Care Center so you can still reach State Farm for assistance while we work through the outage.

We know many of you are dealing with storm damage of your own, and we are truly sorry you’re having to navigate this. Right now, the most important thing is your safety. If you’ve experienced damage, please do what you safely can to prevent further damage while you wait for things to settle—take photos, document what you can, and avoid putting yourself in harm’s way.

We’re doing everything we can on our end to get back up and running locally. We appreciate your patience and understanding while our community recovers. ❤️

Please stay safe, take care of one another, and know that we’re here for you—even when the lights aren’t.
