Ep. 24 “What is the Prize?” – Eric Wood

“What is the prize? What is our real prize? I want to be on the journey to make Jesus my prize. I think that defines all other prizes accordingly.” - Eric Wood

Eric Wood is the Executive Director of NeighborLink Fort Wayne. What led him to NeighborLink is an accumulation of fascinating stories. Eric joins the podcast to share these stories and how God has revealed himself over the years. Although not an easy journey, Eric and his family have seen God's faithfulness time and time again.

We spend time in Philippians looking at some verses in chapter 3. Here Paul is encouraging the church in Philippi to stay strong in the faith and to keep pursuing the prize that is for them.

We also talk about what prize we are pursuing. We live in a world that wants us to have our own prizes by reverse engineering thinking we need stuff, money, and worldly things before we can pursue Christ. An yet, Christ wants us to count that all as loss and strive for our eternal prize.

Ep.21 “Navigating God’s Plan” with Austin Bradtmueller

“He has called us for a purpose, so why wouldn’t he provide what we need to fulfill that purpose? As long as we are faithful to pursue him and keep him at the focus so we don’t get a couple degrees off, he is going to be faithful and just keep doing what he has done our entire lives.” – Austin Bradtmueller

Austin Bradtmueller is the Executive Director of Christian Community Health Care. Austin joins me on the podcast to look at 2nd Peter 1:3 as we discuss God’s plan and purpose in our lives and using what we have been blessed with to fulfill that purpose. As a young leader in Northeast Indiana, Austin talks about his journey to become Executive Director of Christian Community Health Care. In college, Austin studied psychology and criminal justice, but over time God gave him a heart and passion for domestic and international missions which ultimately landed him at Christian Community Health Care. Christian Community Health Care offers affordable health care to the marginalized in the community that may not otherwise have the proper care they need. Austin shares a story about money and his upbringing and how God was faithful during some pretty tough times. He then shares how he has used those lessons from childhood to help him in his vocation and life.

“The Balanced Mindset” – Jason Hazelett

“I think there are few things that can really point out where our priorities are and where are heart is and money happens to be one of those.” - Jason

Jason is the Owner of Steppin' up Physical Therapy in Fort Wayne, Indiana. After working at the hospital for years, he wanted to follow his entrepreneurial spirit and do his own thing. Jason joins me to talk through that journey and the risk/rewards that came from it. He also talks about his upbringing and what he learned from his father when it comes to money. We take time to discuss Proverbs 6:10-11 and how that verse has stuck with him throughout his life and how he has used it to stay motivated and in the proper mindset when managing a business with over 75 employees.

Ep. 19 “The Discipline of Celebration” – Luke Johnson

“The Fruit of the Spirit involves goodness. I deeply believe that we need to increasingly be a people who truly find delight and joy in giving of ourselves and what God has entrusted to us, to the goodness and the delight of other people.” – Luke Johnson

Luke Johnson is the head Pastor at North Park Community Church. He joins me to discuss Deuteronomy 14:22-29. Luke breaks down some verses in the Old Testament in a way that we might not normally think about and will leave us challenged. Often on the podcast money and giving comes back to the heart. Luke gives a unique perspective on the heart when it comes to money, wealth, and possessions.
He also shares how his upbringing and coming to faith later in life has been different from the situation he married into and how him and his wife try to incorporate family values that point to King Jesus. Finally, Luke shares the importance of meals and how that can play into stewarding others and how it demonstrates the lavishness and generosity that God has for us.

New 2300 Reasons Why Episode Ep. 18 “Servant Leadership” – Todd Hollman

“It actually taught me a lifelong lesson, one that I have shared with my children. As you choose a career, choose something you love, don’t do it for the money or title. Do something you love to do. We have all heard that old saying, “you don’t work a day if you love what you do.” “ - Todd Hollman

Todd started as a cook at Pizza Hut one summer to help pay some bills. Little did he know that with hard work and being in the right spot at the right time, he would work his way all the way to President and CEO of Pizza Hut in Northeast Indiana. Todd joins me to discuss Proverbs 3:9 where we spend some time talking about what it means to honor something. We also discuss the difference of the barn analogy within the bible when it comes to wealth. Todd also talks about the importance of giving to others not just from a monetary standpoint. Finally, listen as he shares stories of what has kept him grounded as he has advanced in his career. Listening to Todd, you will get a sense of how important being a servant leader is to his colleagues and the culture they have built at Pizza Hut.
