Hurricane Helene's devastating effects are far from over. To our friends in Western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina we are in utter shock! This is suppose to happen in the Low Country where we live on the Atlantic coast. It's so bizare it's like watching Alice in Wonderland. I-26 a major thoroughfare is CLOSED at the NC/TN border. Parts of I-40 are impassable indefinitely! Just to put this in perspective for people not living in this region, it would be like shutting down half of your state due to an emergency without know when it was going to open up again. My friends at SFG if you can even read this our prayers and thoughts are with you. I understand the the shelters Trinity Baptist Church and Swannanoa First Baptist Church shelters are CLOSED. They are in trouble they cannot operate.

Had dinner at one of our favorite hangouts here on the island... mentioned to one of our favorite servers there was an opening at a restaurant which she could easily increase her paycheck twofold... Her response was "I know but I really like it here and know the owners "...Sometime it's just plain simple. People want to work and be around people they like and trust.
