Preparedness is power and since it’s National Preparedness Month I wanted to share some !
Tip #1: keep original and copies of important documents safe. Here’s a list of items you should include:
✅ personal records: birth, marriage, divorce, adoption and death certificates.
✅ financial documents: pay stubs, bank statements, retirement statements, safety deposit box keys.
✅ medical records: prescriptions, copies of health insurance cards, health provider contact info.
✅ personal identification: passport, driver's license, social security card.
✅ property records: property leases, deeds, mortgages, auto titles, home and car insurance and other related records.
✅ family photos: family photos, keepsakes and other mementos.

Note: consider storing copies online for an added layer of protection!

Visibility is Key: Choose costumes with bright colors or reflective materials. Adding glow sticks or LED lights can help you be seen in the dark.

Comfortable and Fireproof: Pick a costume made from flame-resistant materials, especially if you’ll be near candles or jack-o'-lanterns.
