This week we have the honor of spotlighting Edge and Up, Inc, a women-owned business, owned by Tracy Scanlon, founded in 2009.

Edge and Up Management Group is a Property Management on the north side neighborhoods in Chicago.

Tracy started her business because she saw a gap between what people needed from property management and what they were actually getting. Too often, tenants felt ignored, owners felt disconnected, and properties were treated like numbers instead of homes and investments that truly matter to people.

She wanted to build a company that combined professionalism, responsiveness, and real human connection — one that treated properties with care while also creating stability and trust for both owners and residents.

Over time, it grew into something even bigger: creating opportunities, building community, and proving that strong leadership in real estate can be both strategic and deeply people-focused.

This week we have the honor of spotlighting Toffee Traditions LLC, a women-owned business, owned by Kristen Weisberg, founded originally in 2006 and the brick and mortar in 2021.

Toffee Traditions produces handcrafted, small-batch toffee inspired by a family recipe passed down since the 1940s. Using premium ingredients and traditional methods, they create rich, buttery confections designed to turn everyday moments into sweet memories.

Kristen originally began making toffee during the holidays as a gift for family, and later as hostess and teacher gifts. What started as a simple way to share something homemade quickly grew into something much more meaningful. Today, Toffee Traditions reflects her love of creating and her dedication to building sweet memories through the tradition of sharing handcrafted toffee.
