If you have Medicare and you’ve been told weight loss medications aren’t covered, I need you to read this.
Starting July 1, 2026, CMS is launching something called the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge. And it is a big deal.
Here’s the short version.
Eligible Medicare Part D beneficiaries can now access FDA-approved weight loss medications, including Wegovy and Zepbound, for $50 a month. Not $500. Not $1,200. Fifty dollars.
This is a temporary demonstration program running through December 31, 2027. It’s not permanent, but it’s real, it’s confirmed, and it’s coming fast.
I’m going to break down exactly who qualifies, how it works at the pharmacy, and what you need to do before July 1.
Share it with someone on Medicare who needs to hear it.
