The Fulton County FFA students have been working hard on their annual plant sale. In appreciation of their dedication, we offered them a donation today.
If you have time, stop by and see what they have.
They will be open Friday the 8th 3:15-4:15pm and Saturday the 9th 9:00am-12:00pm.

We were very proud to sponsor the Community Service Award at the Twin Cities Chamber Dinner this week. The Fulton Dog Pound is a well-deserved award winner!

This year’s recipient has had a mission for 20 years to provide protection, kindness, and a safe haven for animals of all shapes and sizes. Over the last 10 years with the help of a dedicated team of volunteers the Fulton Dog Pound has grown and continues to do their best to never turn away a stray, a lost pet, a hurt or unloved animal.
The pound helps not only Fulton County, but also the neighboring counties of Hickman, Obion, and Weakley. This is no small feat and the bills never stop. They work with many rescues from all over to find a safe place for these sweet animals to call home. They also offer adoption, so far this year they have adopted out 25, and have also sent around 100 to rescues. They have adoption events a few times a year, so if you are interested, follow the Dog Pound of Fulton KY on Facebook to be notified of these events.
I know when you think of a pound the first thing that comes to mind would be dogs and cats. This is not always the case. Over the years the Fulton Dog Pound has helped save, and rehome geese, ducks, chickens, pigs, guinea pigs, rats, rabbits, sugar gliders even a bearded dragon!
They are always willing to help reunite lost pets with their owners, as well as save them from horrible situations. They work with different organizations to provide low cost spay and neuter services which in turn helps keep the numbers of strays down. They also help the community with things they might need, including shelter and food as needed.
Even with all they do daily they only have so many kennels to keep these animals safe until they find their forever home. They are always thankful for donations and volunteers.

Congratulations to this month's Character Counts winners at SFE! This month the character trait was fairness, we talked about what that meant to them. Their responses proved they deserved to be given that award! Keep up the good work kids!
