Faith in Action - Action team shout out!

Here is the 'Thrivent - Live Generously Team' that helped fill a shift during First Lutheran Church's 3rd annual Meal Packing Event. Partnering also with Meals from the Heartland, over 60,000 meals were mixed and packaged for distribution to food banks and programs in the U.S.

Thanks to Alicia & Ryan Murphy, Michele Traver, Mike Olinger, Jay Hanstrom, and Mark Hackenmiller for being a part of my team! It is even more fun to make a positive difference in this world when you can do that with friends, co-workers and a larger congregation amplifying impact.

This year our Eastern IA Thrivent member network is supporting Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity’s Faith Build 2026, and you are invited to be a part of it. You’d be welcome to share with other friends/family also, since it can be even more fun to participate together.

Thrivent is partnering with CVHFH for a hands-on panel build event in Cedar Rapids. This unique, in-person event brings together volunteers to construct the actual wall panels for a future home, making a direct and tangible impact on housing in our community. You will also get to learn more about the recipient family, that has already been working alongside Habitat to help others and themselves with the dream of home ownership.

The CVHFH Faith Build program empowers local faith-based organization to put God’s love into action by building homes, communities, and hope. The Faith Build will be under construction from April-July 2026. It is not too late for more churches to learn and get involved, so if you have questions, contact Teressa (info below)
