๐ A BIG SHOUTOUT TO OUR HERNANDO POLICE DEPARTMENT ๐
Today I came across an 18-year-old girl crying on the side of Highway 51. Her front right tire had blown out, she didnโt have a phone, and she was stranded in a dangerous spot over a hill where approaching cars couldnโt easily see her.
I stopped to make sure she was okay and called the non-emergency line. They sent Officer Wofford, and I cannot say enough about the way he handled the situation.
From the moment he walked up, his first concern was making sure everyone was okay and safe. She didnโt think she had a spare tire, and he immediately began figuring out how we could get her and her vehicle out of such a dangerous location.
What stood out to me most was his patience, compassion, and kindness toward this young girl who was obviously scared and overwhelmed. He never rushed her or made her feel like an inconvenience. He simply showed up, took care of the situation, and treated her with dignity and respect.
Officer Wofford, thank you. You were a true example of what a police officer and public servant should be.
Itโs moments like this that remind me how blessed we are to live in a community protected by people who genuinely care about the people they serve.
