Sometimes you don't want to become an expert in this. You just want someone to tell you the answer.

Exactly how much parental leave you can take. Exactly how to line it up with your partner's. No guessing, no piecing it together from forum posts at midnight.

If you're due in September or October, you're getting close, but you're not out of time yet.

Do you actually know what you're eligible for, or are you still planning off a guess?

You already have enough on your plate right now without spending hours trying to research this on your own. I've laid out everything you need to know inside my course, mapped out so you can get through it in one afternoon instead of piecing it together over weeks.

Most people treat the number in their handbook like it's set in stone. It usually isn't.

There's often more time available once you know which conversations to have, and with who. The parents who end up with longer leaves aren't the lucky ones, they're usually the ones who asked.

Knowing how to advocate for yourself with your employer can open up options that never would have shown up on their own.

If you're starting this later than you planned, take a breath. It's not too late to still walk away with a leave you feel good about.

Even with less runway, there are still real options on the table. You just need to move quickly and know exactly where to look first.

Nobody plans for their work bestie to be on leave at the exact same time as them, but when it happens, it's honestly the best plot twist.

Five months, paid, both of you actually present for it instead of counting down days back to your desks. That kind of overlap doesn't happen by accident. It happens when both of you know what you're actually eligible for and plan around it on purpose.

If you and your work bestie are even talking about growing your families around the same time, this is worth figuring out together now.

Your due date does more than tell you when your baby is arriving. It quietly determines which benefit windows you're inside of, and which ones you may have already missed without knowing it.

Move that date by even a few weeks, whether early or late, and your whole plan can shift underneath you.

Most people never realize their due date is working double duty until they're already deep into planning and something doesn't add up.

If your state doesn't have a paid leave program, it's easy to assume that means you're stuck going unpaid. That's not actually true.

There are other sources of pay that exist outside of state programs, but they take more planning to access because nothing shows up automatically.

Most people wait until they're already expecting to start planning their parental leave. By then, some of your options are already narrowing.

The earlier you start, even before you're expecting, the more choices you actually have. Certain windows only stay open if you get ahead of them, and once you're further along, they quietly close without any warning.

Here's the good news though. No matter how far along you are right now, whether you're just starting to think about growing your family or you're already counting down the weeks, I can walk you through exactly what options you still have available to you.

The moment you see those two pink lines, the clock on planning your parental leave already starts ticking, even if it doesn't feel like it yet.

Most people wait until they're further along to start thinking about any of this. But some of the most important options close quietly in those early weeks, long before anyone else even knows.

The earlier you start, the more choices you actually have when the time comes, and the easier it is to advocate for what may be available to you.

"I'll figure it out when the time comes" sounds relaxed. In practice, it's one of the most expensive parental leave strategies out there. πŸ’Έ

Some options only exist if you set them up in advance. Miss the window, and "later" just means "not anymore." Figuring it out ahead of time isn't about being a planning perfectionist, it's about making sure you actually get what might be available to you.
