Do you know what type of policy you have? A named peril policy lists perils that ARE covered. With this type of policy, the policyholder has the burden of proof that the named peril was the cause of the loss. Some examples of this are: theft, burglary, robbery, mysterious disappearance, falling objects, lightning, fire, smoke, and water damage from certain causes.
