Great news for conventional loans! Freddie Mac’s has updated their underwriting system, the improvements give us lenders better feedback, so we have more details on what is needed to get approved for our clients.

On top of that, both Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are expanding appraisal waivers, loans will now be eligible for an appraisal waiver with just 10% down. Appraisal waivers have saved buyer's billions since they started allowing them. These changes mean less time and money spent on appraisals. Now, it is not always a good idea to use an appraisal waiver if you get one, but having the option is always a good thing.
